About

Grega Močnik is a researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI), University of Maribor, where he works within the Digital Signal Processing Laboratory (DSPLAB) and the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications. He holds a PhD (2023) and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics (2017), both from the University of Maribor.

His research spans video and image signal processing, computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and the implementation of communication protocols for embedded and IoT systems. In recent years his work has focused on gesture capture and synthesis for embodied conversational agents, and on applying AI and multimodal signal analysis to healthcare and mental-health research, including as part of the Horizon Europe project MENHIR — Supporting Mental Health in Young People (2023–2026).
